IBM's consulting arm is using a live dashboard that shows humans and AI agents working together in real time. The internal tool, called Consulting Advantage, was unveiled in 2024 and a client-facing version, Enterprise Advantage, was released in January. Mohamad Ali, senior vice president of IBM Consulting, described the dashboard to Business Insider and said it shows hourly activity for humans and digital workers. IBM reports it has digital staff working alongside humans on more than 150 client engagements.
Notable details:
- Consulting Advantage helps consultants build and manage teams of AI agents, and Enterprise Advantage is the version offered to clients.
- In a security operations example, digital workers generate an investigation plan, execute steps in parallel, run a risk analysis, and produce a report for human verification; the process is reported to take minutes instead of about 45 minutes.
- IBM reported completing 52,000 investigations in January using this approach.
- The company said its generative AI department was valued at $12.5 billion during its fourth-quarter earnings call.
- IBM Consulting reported over $21 billion in consulting revenue for 2025, up from about $20.7 billion in 2024, and employs about 150,000 people.
Summary:
The dashboard is presented as a way to make human oversight of AI agents visible and to accelerate operational tasks such as security investigations. Undetermined at this time.
