City of Kyle partners with Buda and Hays County to open new animal shelter
Kyle has approved an interlocal agreement with Buda and Hays County to build and operate a new animal shelter, with Kyle owning and running the facility and partners contributing funding. A $1.6 million design contract was approved and construction is expected to begin in Fiscal Year 2026-27.

Food Lion plans new, larger store in Lexington
Food Lion will build a new 37,000-square-foot store on Talbert Boulevard in Lexington, replacing a renovation plan and aiming to open in early 2027. The company says the store will feature expanded ready-to-eat and prepared food options, self-checkout lanes, and pickup and delivery services.
Seafarers' training facility to be re-established at MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy in the Philippines
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines held a groundbreaking on January 19 for a new MOL Training Center within the MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, and the facility is planned to begin operations in April 2027.
