Vauxhall's RCMP reported a drop in property and persons crimes at the start of 2026. The detachment met with Vauxhall town council on Feb. 17 to review January statistics and discuss local policing. In January the RCMP responded to seven calls for service, including three criminal-code calls and one non-criminal call. Officers conducted 30 patrols and issued 11 tickets during the month.

- Property crimes included five break-and-enters (charges pending in two cases), three fewer motor-vehicle thefts, and one fewer theft under $5,000. Two cars were reported damaged when parked overnight in Barnwell and Enchant.
- Three fraud cases were reported and investigations are ongoing.
- Sgt. Stewart Gemmill said he met with Alberta Sheriffs and a Lethbridge sergeant after the new council was sworn in, and that officers have shown increased patrol and ticketing activity (the detachment reported 11 tickets in January and one member had written 60 tickets so far in February).
